‘Circle’ – Created using fine liner pens and acrylic paint pens.
The artist has always had a love for optical art. Art that plays with the eye and confuses the brain. In fact one of the artist’s art heroes has always been Bridget Riley, and although she has always resisted the term ‘Op Art’, Steve has always loved the way in which Bridget uses the close proximity of black and white to create movement and, in some instances, colour.
Here we see the black and white of the circle almost vibrate in front of the black and white background. Some may even see colours form when looking intently at this artwork.
Mounted in a beautifully handmade black wooden frame.
