The original Artwork entitled ‘Pigeon Park’ – created using acrylic pens and archival ink fine liners.
This was the fourth of five pieces in a collection of work completed between November 21 and January 22. It was started whilst I was on my stall, during the 33 day run at the Christmas in Cathedral Square market, in Birmingham, and completed back in my studio in early January.
The grounds of Birmingham Cathedral, where the Christmas market was held, is affectionately known, to the people of Birmingham as ‘Pigeon Park’. When the market isn’t in town, Pigeon Park is generally frequented by those more unfortunate people of Birmingham, sat on the many benches between the grave stones and monuments, drinking from brown paper bags. This was my interpretation of my surroundings during my time there… and NO… there are no pigeons in it.
