Created using fine liner pens, artist’s coloured pencils and acrylic pens. This artwork was inspired during one sunny afternoon in the artist’s back garden. A small lavender plant was swarming with bees and the artist took his mobile phone, got as near as he dared to one of the bees and took an amazing photograph – which then became the inspiration.
Unlike the majority of the artist’s work, the bee was so beautiful that Steve decided NOT to fragment it. Instead keeping it whole and fragmenting the background. The background itself was done in coloured pencil so as to achieve the slightly ‘out of focus’ appearance.
Mounted in a beautifully handmade black wooden frame.
