This is the original artwork, ‘At The Mountains of Madness’. Painted in acrylic on x 500x 400mm box canvas.
A combination of complimentary colours and colours that should jar, with those colours around them. Altogether a pleasing piece of work that plays with the eye, reminiscent of the old Op-Art movement of the late 1950’s and 1960’s, made famous by Bridget Riley (although she DID distance herself from the term, Op-Art) and the American Abstract Expressionist artist, Gene Davis.
The stripe design continues over the edges of the box canvas (see photos).
